Prizes!

The SWEETS contest prize list just got sweeter. My pals over at Mariner Software shipped over 3 sealed, licensed copies of their amazing Montage screenwriting software! These will be given away during the SWEETS contest to be announced soon. How cool is that?

Just a bit of back story on Montage: I first met the Mariner crew at MacWorld a few years ago and was telling them how much I loved their software. I had been using it for months and at that time, I had just completed the first draft of SWEETS. I've since finished all 5 issues with Montage and I've been pimping it ever since. The software is written in Cocoa, Spotlight enabled, etc. That makes far more compatible with Macs than Final Draft (which is written for Windows, then ported over). So it's stable, fast, and takes full advantage of the Mac OS. My single favorite feature is the full screen mode that deactivates the Apple Dock and strips everything from the screen except the script. It's great for productivity and I don't know how I ever got by without it.

I've been playing around with Literature and Latte's Scrivener -- curious how it compares to Montage.

I've toyed with Scrivener a bit, it's a solid app for sure. I've never done a side by side comparison with Montage but I think either of them get the job done.

I suppose it's all about finding something you can work naturally in, and I wasn't having much luck with Final Draft.
